Kittoe Contemporary, launched in 2018 by Katherine Kittoe, is a roving gallery based in Queens Road Peckham showing a talented group of emerging and established artists - hosting regular Art Parties where collectors can see the latest work from Kittoe Contemporary artists on the walls of real homes, to buy or simply enjoy with friends in an relaxed, convivial environment and they take this ethos with then when they exhibit at art fairs and events. Kittoe Contemporary's artists have different styles, use different mediums and methods and they offer something for a variety of tastes and budgets.

Kittoe says "Art was the backdrop to my childhood inspiring me to study Art History and go on to work in auction houses and museums. With extensive experience and a keen eye, I can provide both passion and practicality to finding art for you. I work with a wide range of artists, united by their quality and my desire to bring their work to a wider audience."

IMPRESSIONS

‘Off Kilter’ by William Packer

The visual arts have been William’s principal and abiding interest throughout his career, whether as teacher, examiner, advisor, critic or writer - but always as painter.

For the last 30 years William has focused on still life painting. He likes to work in natural light although the painting and composition can change radically during the process (of reconciling space, form and light onto the two dimensional surface of the canvas) so the finished image is not always quite what it seems to be.

Kate Scott

Kate creates abstract collages, using acrylic and watercolour. Each piece seeks to find an energy and balance between weights, colours, and edges both hard and soft. She uses tissues and Japanese papers allowing for the layering of colour so that a sense of depth can be achieved.

Kate trained at the University of Exeter and the City and Guilds School of Art. She became a professional member of the Craft Potters Association in 2005. Kate worked as a lettering artist and designer in publishing for many years moving into ceramics and subsequently collage. Kate works as both artist and potter

Clare Packer

‘My pictures are perhaps not collages in the conventional sense. I think of them also as paintings. The materials are not found. I paint pattern and texture on to sheets of paper, which I then cut and tear to create the images that make up my landscapes and classical heads. Colour and pattern, often directly inspired by my experience, are very important to me.’

Clare trained at Wimbledon School of Art followed by a Ceramic Diploma then moving to collage.
